Today's water splash. Set this shot up in the garage. Wanted to stop the motion as I tried several settings finally ended up using high speed sync flash. Light bulb was mounted on black plastic with molding putty. Used a white plastic as backdrop with the strobe firing on the backdrop from the front but behind the bulb. Used a bounce white card on the left to have even light on the backdrop.
Camera is Nikon D850 Using a Tamron 35-150mm F2.8
Exposure 1/4000 sec; f/16; ISO 100
My wife poured the water over the light bulb as I shot. Took many shots till the garage floor was soaked.
I'm showing two pictures, wanted to see which one was better in your opinion.
Thanks,
Jim
The first feels like an eruption from the ocean. Is it an alien craft? Or is it more symbolic? LOVE your result!!
The border in #2 detracts from the impact IMO.

Thank you Linda. Hope some more give me their opinion on border or no border.๐
I really like the first one. Not so much with the second one. Your background can perhaps have an early morning sunrise on one or both.
#1 looks like a creative photograph, #2 looks like it may be an ink drawing. Just my IMHO. Well done!
Great image. I love the first one. I find the second one, the framing is distracting to me.
Excellent!

When I posted this I thought the 2nd one would not be a favorite. Thanks so much for you opinion Roni, it confirms how I thought other would see it.

To me, Jim, almost looks like something that Tesla or Edison or Westinghouse would have seen during their experimentation with the electric light bulb. Nicely done. I respectfully disagree with Linda, I like the vignetting on #2.
