Hi folks

Does anyone have experience with using this combination of camera and lens together? I have the necessary Sony adapter, sadly the adapter prevents me from attaching the camera to my tripod, would love to know if there’s a ‘fix’ for this. Interested in a longer zoom range but don’t have the money to go for anything over $300.

As always your comments and suggestions greatly appreciated. I already own the Sony 55-210mm kit lens and the Sony 18-135 mm lens.

Cheers

If you have the LA -EA4 adapter The 500mm f8 reflex is a GREAT lens - but not a zoom. The Sigma 100-300 f4 is also a GREAT lens that you can use Clear Image Zoom with. With any A-mount lens you use you will need to do a focus calibration/adjustment. I have never used the Minolta 100-400 - but I do not like f6.7 lenses in general !

You will need an L bracket and one of these to use with an Arca/Swiss QR head. - https://www.ebay.com/itm/140mm-Nodal-Rail-Slide-Plate-QR-Clamp-Macro-Panoramic-Bracket-For-Arca-Swiss-RRS/371644924814?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

Reviews of the Minolta - https://www.dyxum.com/lenses/Minolta-AF-100-400mm-F4.5-6.7-APO_lens66.html

The focusing in lower light seems to be dubious (f6.7)

I offered my Sigma 70-300mm OS f4-5.6. Excellent lens that I I have up for sale here. Works perfectly with the LAEA4 adapter. But I thought he wants something longer.

Thanks so much for your recommendations. I got a really great deal on a Minolta AF APO lens, not crazy about the f6.7 either but will be shooting in daylight so hoping it won't be too much of an issue.

Thanks again and happy shooting.
