A congress is a group of salamanders.

Still fits.

Now, now, that's not fair. It's around 525 baboons. There's maybe a dozen or so that are ok.

Guess who put them in that room? Now that is sad.

Yes we did but our choices are EXTREMELY LIMITED. 😂 We need to find a way an average person can run and truly be competitive. Maybe all candidates get 8 hours of TV time and 1tb of internet space. Then maybe a couple of public broadcast debates and that's it. No donations no foundations no supporters of campaigns per sa. Also maybe a financial discloser when elected and another when leaving office.

Right! I forgot about that one. Whoever gave it that name had a sense of humor. It sounds like something Mark Twain would do.

"A pride of loins" ???

Somehow conjures a different mental image than 'A pride of lions"

I certainly agree with getting 'big money' out of politics. A corporation is not a person, not an American. And they shouldn't be allowed to give $$$ to a candidate, a political think group or a party. They should be banned from any financial contribution. And all donations/contributions should be limited to a reasonably small amount per individual/family.

Apparently we will need many new laws controlling our officials, and especially the President, that require financial disclosure, require 'no person is above the law' even while serving in office, no family members serving officially or unofficially in the same administration unless they were voted into it by the public, etc., etc.

It will be a new day. And a much needed breath of fresh air. May it happen quickly. No one thought the principles of honesty, etc. needed to be codified. Certainly any President would observe the unspoken 'rules' observed by all Presidents before him/her.

But, experience now shows us that we can't have a 'beauty' contest with a brief appearance before the public before voting. Candidates need to be investigated/vetted to learn who they really are, what they really believe, a moral compass and integrity. That takes some time. And a free press to investigate and report.
