Yeah, yeah, I know these are a cliché, but I still think they are so damn cool!

Nice shot. And with an iPhone !
Hi, smussler,
Thank you!
...and yes, with an iPhone by EBTR. Takes full advantage
of 12bit-depth raw capture!

I downloaded it to look at the exif data to see what lens was used.
DOF seemed pretty good. I wondered what macro lens was used.
Amazing photos come out of Cell phones these days.

Hi, Steve,
No macro lens used. Of the three fixed lens cameras in the iPhone11ProMax the mid-range camera(“wide”1x... between the “double wide” 0.5X and the “tele” 2X ) manually focuses quite nicely down to amazingly short distances.. and then this was about a 40% crop... maybe closer to 35% or so... Could never have pulled a crop of this size and quality out of the ETTR exposure because it forfeits 75% of the full tonal spectrum of the sensor’s full dynamic range and discernible detail made possible by the extra two stops of exposure provided by EBTR. I lucked out with this particular iPhone. Another I tested has only one extra stop of raw-accessible DR at ISO 200 with the “wide” camera. It’s the luck of the draw!
Regards,
Dave

Hi, Steve, br No macro lens used. Of the three fix... (

The posted image is 1058x808, 0.85MP. That's a 0.07 crop. Does that mean you cropped it more than once?
If you test this iPhone's camera properly (by looking at the raw file) you will find that there is no "luck" involved. There is no variation from one iPhone to the next for the same model. They all have the same dynamic range limited primarily by the 12-bit file's raw capacity which is a range of RGB values from 0-4095. There is no margin for ETTR in a 12-bit iPhone image.
You are right about one thing. Because of the extremely short focal length the DOF allows you it to focus very closely and provides a lot of DOF.
See
iPhone closeup - It's not a matter of luck.
