I have it and like it very much, though it seems a tad sharper on my Mirrorless Z7 than on my previous D850 and D500. It might have to do with having to make lens adjustments sometimes on a regular DSLR, where there seemed no need for it on the Z7. It came with an adjustment tool from Tamron, and I updated the firmware on it once, but the process of focus adjustments seemed too cumbersome for me. Also one can make some in camera adjustments on the bodies. I appears to be well weather sealed. Not sure the Nikon is sealed.

I shoot with a d 750 and also a d300. I also have several lenses all are Nikon. My question is really simple. I am looking at the Tamron 150 -600 g2. Does any one have any opinions on this this lense or is there better choices out there? I will primarily be using the lense for birds and anything else I may not be able to get close to.
Hi Salikenphoto,
I have the Tamron 150mm to 600mm and love it. It's not to heavy to hold and takes wonderful pictures of bird flying. I use it on my Nikon 850.

I had the early Tamron 150-600, too. I liked it, but it was 1) heavy and 2) soft at the end range. I don't know if the g2 has corrected the softness, although I suspect it will still be heavy.
I shoot Canon, so I sold the Tamron and sprang for the L series 100-400 with a 1.4x converter. It, too, is heavy, but I can get nice crispness at full extension, even with the converter, so with a little cropping I get the same effective length that I had with the Tamron. . . more, even (896mm effective).
I don't know if the Nikon offers an equivalent lens.
