Yeah, my wife and I went in the store for a couple things. We went directly to the aisle we needed.
GASP.... we walked in the opposite direction and were reminded by a busybody.
To keep the herd happy my wife turned the cart in the correct direction then we walked backwards to the item.

I don’t think anything serious was intended by Rathatra. A joke is all. The problem here is that there is so much divisiveness with this issue. People are no longer being kind to one and other. After all, we are all in this together. But. we have 2 sides now on whether to wear them or not. There is real sensitivity here for people on both sides of this issue. Science and medical expertise is being debated by regular ordinary people. There are those who believe it and those who deny it. We will find out, at some point, which side was correct. I think everyone is united and agreeing on one thing; we all know we are right!

Get off your high Horse Thomas - I have no problems with the social distancing rules being applied and this is just a lighthearted diversion without implying any serious difficulty or objection the necessary steps we all need to take to protect ourselves and each other. Now you have got your medals out I should say that three members of my family have worked in the NHS with one of them currently working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week.

We have a government, like your own, who started to deal with this issue far too late which has led to many unnecessary deaths, most sadly in the Homecare sector.

And just for the record I was NOT ranting - didn't see any ranting going on in the cartoon.

Stay Alert - Support the health workers and Save Lives.

That exactly what I was thinking when I read that post. That air must be really rarified up there for him.

Store mgmt. should be told of non-compliance. It is their job to ensure compliance. My stores do check automatically and have reminded them (nicely) to comply or leave.

The bad thing about those masks is for a lot of us it is very difficult to breathe with them on. I'm 77 and have COPD. Doesn't take much at all to get out of breath. I try not to take mine off when I'm near someone.

Kind of hard to leave when you need food. If you see someone not wearing their mask turn and run for your life, or stay out of their face.

That sounds laughable, but one-way aisles prevent congestion and close contact. Shopping for food is now my least favorite activity.

Thank you jerryc41 for bringing clarity to this inappropriate post... It is cavalier attitudes such as in the OP's post that reflects the rampart insensitivity of the American society to the horrific devastation being currently wreaked by covid19 on so many helpless souls... It is rather narrow minded to post a sick joke about one of the only effective countermeasure we have to halt the slaughter which in just several short months has killed more than 100,000 in the US in a most cruel way. To die alone without love ones near is an appalling wicked death...

Rathyatra my long time best friend is an ICU Nurse who is now assigned to the covid19 isolation ICU... She has to attend to patients who are ventilated (intubated) sedated on Propofol, fentanyl, and versed… also many have a lassix drip (Furosemide) running and combo antibiotics… they are on tube feeding… and she has to update their wife and/or love ones over the phone throughout the day... She is working 12 hour shifts in full protective gear breathing with PAPR (powered air-purifying respirator) and struggles valiantly to keep her patients alive... She is not alone... across our country are countless other ICU nurses are locked in a fierce battle against death... They risk it all every day...

And you are posting socially insensitive humor and ranting because you wife has a challenge with grocery shopping? Sorry Rathyatra but if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem... but then this is UHH (enough said)

Again many thanks jerryc41, it is UHH members such as you that makes time on this forum very worthwhile... I wish you all the best on your epic journey jerryc41... God speed...

A salute to your friend!

It was a joke for god's sake. What is wrong with some of you people. I have heard jokes about the Gulag, a colonoscopy (where no man has gone before), Kama Kazie pilots, the American Civil War, you name it. A comedy TV series about life in a German Luftwaffe prison camp. Some may have been in poor taste, but live with it. Good lord.

The best fate for a "joke in poor taste" is not to be repeated, to die in peace.
