I have had Dish for a number of years and paying over $80 per month.
Received an offer from Huhu for $55 per month.
Please tell me if you have Huhu if you are happy with the service.
My internet is Exede.

I believe you mean Hulu. I have it, and it all depends on your internet speed. The faster the speed, the better it works. I have very slow internet out here in the country, and it is still decent.

The offerings from Dish are usually much better that a cable service without paying twice that.
Hulu is a good addition to, not always instead of.
What on Dish isn't on Hulu? And vice verse.

I live in LA, CA. I pay almost double what you do; iinternet, cable and the HBO, Showtime and Starz bundle.
Just over half my programmed "favorites" are in the HBO, Showtime and Starz bundle.
If it wasn't for that bundle (my wife) a $70 antenna triples my selection of usable, watchable channels.
And my bill would be a third.

If you mean hulu, you still have to pay for internet service. Youtube TV has a great channel lineup for $49/Month. None are as good, unfortunately, as the dreaded Comcast.

We went with YouTubeTV at 1/3 the cost - cut the cable (DirectTV) - get all the stuff we watched plus local network channels for news/weather. Nephew has Netflix and gave us one of his access points so that works out well.
We live in the country and have wireless internet access at 6MB speed - no issues streaming - the provider just upgraded everyone to 10 which didn't really make much difference to us - speeds are still the same...

We had a dish before good cable was available. Since switching to cable, we have more choices and better reception.

I like the idea of dropping my cable and going with alternate services, but if I drop cable, the cost for Internet and phone will increase. And how many services will I have to pay for monthly to get the same coverage I get from cable? I watch mostly Netflix and Prime, but I also watch regular TV shows.

I'd love to drop DISH. We're paying a fortune. $125. Not even getting any premium movie channels. There are channels we'd have to give up, including Hallmark for my wife, ID for me, as well as the capability to record. If I could find something less expensive that contained our channels and a way to record I'd jump in a minute.

We have Dish and the only issue that I have with it is that a moderate rainstorm degrades or destroys the signal. Both cable companies here suck, service wise. My wife is the principal TV watcher in our house and she doesn't complain. I am usually reading, so it doesn't seem to matter all that much. I do like their sports package though. We can watch our favorite team, Auburn, almost every Saturday. I'm too old to risk the steep stadium steps anymore, so we haven't attended a game in person for years.

Until about a year ago, our DISH carried Fox Sports Southwest. This allowed us to see Mavericks and Rangers games. Now that's gone but DISH did not lower our monthly rate. That sucks.

My wife and I had our home phone and internet with Verizon and our TV with DirecTV for several years. We had no premium channels, and the internet was slow. We were closing in on almost $200 a month. A couple years ago we were about to lose our favorite local channel because ComCast controlled DirecTV so we switched to a local cable company for the bundle and reduced our bill by over 1/3. Phone service is better, internet is much faster and we don't need to connect a laptop to the TV to watch NetFlix.

Assuming your internet service is reliable and fast, simply compare the tv channel line-ups offered by Hulu, You-Tube Tv, Sling and others.

I tested Hulu, but ended up with You-Tube TV ($55/mo with sales tax) because they offer more sports channels. I was able to "pause" my subscription when MLB and NCAAM were cancelled in March. There is free unlimited dvr service with You-Tube TV, btw. I liked it a lot, both watching via a smart tv and a computer.

I used to switch between Dish and DirectTv every 2 years when the contract ran out,,,You might call Dish and tell them you want to cancel their Service as You can get Hulu for $55 a month, they might haggle with you a little but don't be surprised if they offer Dish for $60 a month...

I have Direct TV for $220 a month-all channels they offer. I also have Prime, Hulu, Netflix, HBO Go, EPIX, Britbox, PBS, MHz-I have no idea what they are costing me. My daughter is sharing her Hulu with me and I can get UTube free. I only watch certain types of shows (foreign murder mysteries -usually with subtitles) and these steaming services give ma a good selection. Since I live out in the boonies, my opportunities for entertainment are very limited. And in the rainy season-we just stay home.
