Continuing our virtual tour down the Southern Waterpocket Fold

These images were all shot late on day 2 through day 3 of our 25 day backpack/climb along the southern Waterpocket Fold. Here we're still in Capitol Reef N.P. near Lower Muley Twist. All sets images we're shot with 25 feet of each other except for image 4 which shows a dome we climbed in this area. Stay tuned for more tomorrow.

I call it the White Wave and though it's right next to the Muley Twist "trail", I suspect most people hike by it oblivious to it's surreal beauty.

Interesting that you should say that. Got there late in the afternoon of day 2 of our hike and it was all in shadows, got the first shot that you see. Went climbing in the early morning of day 3 and when we got back it was again, mostly, in shadows. Would like to see it with full light on it (although that might not produce great images)

A labor of love for sure. Also knowing that my window for doing these long backpacks/climbs is rapidly closing (I'm 68- this group of four hikers ranged from a baby of 58 to a 69 year old).
I notice you're Dr. Nikon, I took these photos with a Nikon Z7 and the 24-70 f4 lens - need to keep the weight down as I weaken with age.

These are really nice. I do wish when we were there we could have done some hiking. But my companion doesn't hike (at all!).
