There is almost no place in Venice that you can't create an interesting photo. A few minutes before I took the picture you commented on I took this photo. I had it printed on canvas and it now hangs on my living room wall. This was just a few minutes after sunrise and there was almost no one in St. Mark Square. While it is not B&W it has a monochrome feel. One of my best shots ever. View in download. Let me know what you think.

Entrance to the Campanile. I overlooked this photo for many years. Once I started working in B&W I took a shot on processing this image. There is a little washout around the statues on the rooftop but I had no idea on how to eliminate the effect. Any suggestions are appreciated

This was created for B+W. Great shot!

Glad you liked it. I knew when I took it that the lack of people in the shot would make it unique. Within 10 minutes there were hundreds of people in the square.

I used the B&W enhancement from the Nik Collection. I think it is called EFX Silver 2. I highly recommend.

I like Silver Efex a lot indeed. But my question is why the sky is so dark at the top and gets much brighter near the top of the palazzo. I'm guessing you either did a gradient or darkened the sky. If you wanted to put a bit of work into it with masking, you could darken the sky more evenly without affecting the building.
