Focus Stacked Image of a Crane Fly

Well, it's another Crane fly and although I posted one a while back, this one is of a different view showing more of its entirety.

They are out in abundance now. Adult crane flies only live a few days, and don't eat much of anything so the adults have a short life span. This one was resting on the wall by the floor lamp in our Family Room. I catch many insects that make their way into the house from my letting the dogs out and letting the dogs in, repeat, repeat, repeat.....

Great shot.....can you explain how you do the photo stacking on the insects....
Are the still alive when photographing them?

This gentleman has posted several photos and descriptions of how he does his amazing work. It may be a bit more complicated than I would like to try, but his results are amazing.
