As an amateur who likes to take pictures, with a model who is not a model in the traditional sense, I really appreciate all the comments here. Of course with a pretty lady to photograph there is not much you can do wrong. So I will keep posting.

Two questions, out of curiosity.

1: How many years are we observing in her hair?

2: How much time does she have to set aside to manage her tresses per day?

It is delightful to see photos of a person comfortable in their skin. This allows for the personality to shine through.

I used to think your critical comment about part 1 was intended to be constructive, now I believe you just like to be negative.

I am sorry you see it that way as it is just the opposite - I have been impressed with your photos and model from the first one and my opening line(s) has always said so. And if I wasn't I wouldn't waste my time looking or commenting. If you look back at my comments over my time here you will see my suggestions are always things that a model or photographer has control over - I NEVER comment like others about too fat or skinny, no tattoos, hair color, piercings, etc. or wrong shoes, dress, etc.

I pass on commenting on 80% of the stuff posted here because they are just naked snapshots, a million that are available on the Internet with a search. YOU keep saying you are an amateur but the only difference in my eyes between that and a professional is pros are always willing to learn to improve their next shoot or PP work, the reason I am on the site. Amateurs prefer to just collect "oohhs" & "aahhs". So assume I have given them to you and I will refrain from posting.

"

After cataloging mostly critical, but relevant, comments in your first post you followed up with this. This is not the kind of language someone who wants to be helpful uses. More like sarcasm to me!

I was complimentary - nothing is higher than a prime number - but one of the problems with social media is one cannot see the person's facial expression or hear the voice inflection, thus the reason I added "<grin>" after the last line, to let you know I was pulling your leg, but also pointing out the first photo would improve with her hands & the prop she is leaning on - this is an indoor, set-up - and maybe you would give the idea second thoughts. The last drawing attention were apparently too lazy to crop out the sprig after you had already agreed in an earlier set it should have been. So, guess we will have to agree to disagree and sure this conversation would have gone differently in person vs cold web site. Please tell your model she was appreciated.

Appreciate the info. All I can say is "Wow" on the hour. A few friends of mine who wore their hair long always took two to three hours. (Granted that equipment got better over the decades.)

Please continue to share with us.

They may not teach that as part of accounting, but this is not how constructive criticism is written. Sarcasm seldom comes across as intended to be constructive, and those are sarcastic remarks.

As to not enough details in the hair, the pictures were my first attempt of doing anything but snapshots. So I was using a low resolution camera, with an on board flash.

Well here is my two cents worth.
Constructive comments are nice but after the fact is is of no use. So,for the furture shoots it is nice to recall these tips but for right now, today, just that, comments.
Now with your posts on this series, I will stay with the Ooooh's and Ahhhh's, which is a serious compliment, to keep it simple and let the smarter people comment on the details.
Once again Reno, ya dun good.

Thank you! Still, I don't have a problem with constructive criticism that enhances my knowledge. I do have a problem when the criticism come in the form of sarcasm.

One man's comment is another man's sarcasm and another man's question. I would try to look at the content and not the delivery as it is very possible it was delivered one way and received another, especially when written so the vocal tones and inflections that clearly identify a verbal statement are not present.
