Your money or mine?
It would probably depend on what you will use it for and how often you will use it.
A bit more information might get you some reasonable advice.

Reducing the zoom ratio certainly does save some $$$.
But your $$ figures are way overboard anywho cuz you are discussing a larger format than the OP. And acoarst the lens for the correct format will provide a more favorable ratio at equal speed for less $$ ... expensive, but much less expensive than your format.
Sony E 16-55 f2.8 is $1298.

You trust Google?
You trust the “crowd wisdom” of UHH ?
BTW ... No, I do not “trust” Google.
What a weird question you asked. There are no issues of trust or distrust involved in what is essentially just a phone book.
FWIW, Google will never try to sell you anything, or waste your $$, recommend pointless upgrades, etc etc.
Well OK ... businesses do bribe their way to a top spot on the search page and if you don’t read past the top you might screw yourself. But a search engine is not a content originator so there nothing to trust or distrust about it.
Just got this on the Sony system.
Reflecting on Two Years in the Sony Alpha Ecosystem
https://petapixel.com/2020/05/27/reflecting-on-two-years-in-the-sony-alpha-ecosystem/***In terms of third party support, Tamron’s recent releases have E Mount users covered. Not only do they have a small compact trinity of f/2.8 primes, they also have their fantastic and affordable f/2.8 zooms. I did own the Tamron 28-75mm lens for a short period of time and was really happy with everything it had to offer. I’m just not a zoom person so I ended up selling it off.****
