By now many UHHers are familiar with my travels to remote corners of Canyon Country. I got to do one more (2 part) trip to Southern Utah before the Covid 19 pandemic took hold of us all. The first trip was a 12 day backpack to a remote part of the Navajo Nation that even local Navajo don't visit. It's an extremely rugged area that sticks out into the San Juan arm of Lake Powell aptly called The Great Bend. We reached it by a long boat ride from Antelope Marina and were picked up 12 days later - no food caches this time, our 12 day backpacks severely challenged our 68 year old legs. Needless to say we never saw another human for the entire time which was spend climbing steep sandstone domes and photographing. You'll get to join me for the next few days as I post this virtual show (photos are printed in the order that they were taken). Enjoy and keep on the lookout for daily posts for the next few days. The first photo was taken the morning before we started hiking on a warm up hike near Lee's Ferry (looking at the Paria Plateau). The last one is a photo of mud taken on Day 2, it's a subject I come back to time and time again.
Beautiful. I wish I could see it in person.

I applaud you for doing this trip and thank you for sharing it with us. I also envy you a bit, as I know I would no longer be able to do this. Great pictures.
