We have these tiny little wisps of grass with these magenta colored buds in our yard and I picked on and brought it in for a photo session of various magnifications.
The first image is a 1X power magnification (standard macro) that shows the blossom with the buds with respect to the size of a dime. The second image was staged at 3X power magnification. The third image was staged at 5X magnification.
Both the 3X and the 5X views are focus stacked images.
Very nice Sippy. Ever wonder what pollinates these little guys?
Excellent images, sippy. I think I had some of those before I mowed a few days ago.

Thanks for viewing and I have no clue what pollinates them although I can see the reproductive parts in the view.

Thanks, Kpmac. I don't know what they are although they appear to be a grass of some type. I also mowed today which is what attracted them to me for I always walk the yard before I mow to look for anything that I might run over and send it flying.
Looks like Pink Knotweed (Polygonum pensylvanicum) Gary. It's in the Buckwheat family. Great macros my friend.

Thanks, Doc. I can always rely on a learned person to educate me and gosh knows I need a lot of it.

Hardly a learned person Gary. I have to be careful of the person you offer IDs to. When I ID some people's things for them because I would think they might like to know exactly what they are shooting I get the feeling that they think I'm trying to be a wise guy. (not in the good sense of the phrase). Mybe it's just me. When I take a photo I always try to label it right away.

Oh, Doc. Please always make yourself available to help me. I'm a retired mechanical guy and I paid no attention to the small world around me until I had the need to find something to take the place of my profession and the associations that I had made there over a lifetime.
The reason that I seldom tag a name on anything is because I simply either don't know or it would be only a guess on my part.
I thrust for knowledge and I have a drive for experimenting with that constant little voice saying, "What if.."
If I ever see a post about a critically controlled environment like a surgery suite or an industrial process like a clean room for pharmaceuticals, I'll be able to offer some assistance. Insects and flowers...other than perhaps being pretty...I'm mostly in the dark.
