The cities you listed--those are FACTS. Ignore the facts and all is well. Sort of like some bozo saying there'd be a lot less virus if we did a lot less testing. Asinine.

I will wait right here for you to point out the exaggeration.
I judge political parties by what they do. Every Democrat for President wanted to get rid of firearms. Is that an exaggeration?

Dennis You may see this as a political issue and as I am not a voter in the US it goes over my head.
The problem you have is guns in the wrong hands and an unwillingness to do anything about it. So we can sit back and wait until the next person with a grievance goes on a shooting spree taking innocent lives. It does not happen in other first world countries, just America.
I sincerely hope its not one of your family taken out by a nut with an assault rifle.

How do you know that - have you any idea of what it is like to need a weapon to protect yourself or some one who just happens to be near by and you "DON'T" have any thing - I do and later when I needed that weapon for my own protection I "did" have it. I'm 50 yrs older - he is not.
Yes I do, I live and work in the Bronx for 11 years, before that I live and work in New Haven, Conn. for 3 years. What does 50 yrs. older get to do with anything? I 75 so what.

Of course you are right. Apparently you are not able to accept that there would not be such a high rate IF these cities and others were not included. That is also a FACT. I am ignoring nothing. I have been in on the anti gun crowd since the early 60's right after JFK was assassinated.
Thousands if not millions of firearms of all types were sold mail order to the general public. Never a problem until JFK was shot by a mail order rifle of the absolutely most piss poor quality of any military bolt action rifle ever produced. Then as now it is the tail wagging the dog and you on the Left keep pushing that way. One man, Lee Harvey Oswald does something to misuse a firearm and the entire world has to change. Never mind that there had already been tons of firearms sold that were NOT used in any crime.
But that is how the Left looks at life. They will ban a type of rifle that is used in crime less than are knives only because they don't like the operation of the rifles and further more don't have a clue as to what the guns are about due to your own ignorance.
But HEY, God forbid FACTS should get in the way of Liberal stupidity, huh.

Land mines.
Placed there and set to explode by a human being. On their own they are harmless. You did know that didn't you? Those land mines on battlefields don't just grow there in the soil you know.

So, this must be how the conversation went when the Founders were discussing the Bill of Rights.

Using your asinine "methodology" ( which ,BTW, would get you laughed off a jr.high school debate stage) it's a FACT that NO ONE has EVER died of cancer----provided you don't count the people that died of cancer. Why not just ignore ALL the cities. Then you could claim NO ONE has been killed by firearms. Stop wasting our time.

Why do you blame the weapon, it takes an idiot to fire it!

That must be why FBI statistics show a lower crime rate across America the last time I looked. It SEEMS that people are out of control due to excessive media coverage of anything resembling a shooting by someone using a semi auto rifle. In reality more of that type of rifle are used each year to save law abiding citizens from criminals.
Dennis
Does it only SEEM as if the USA ranks near the top of the list of countries with the most people killed by firearms every year? Does it only SEEM as if the USA has had more mass shootings than any other country on the planet? Are either of those caused by “excessive media coverage?”

Not to bring up old apologia, but THEY haven't done any harm at all, any more than Lizzy Borden's ax did any harm. They are inanimate objects incapable of harm, unless they happen to fall off a shelf above you; in which case it was gravity that actually did the harm. I don't belong to the NRA, and neither do I hunt (other than with a camera) anymore, although it's not because I oppose hunting for food; it's just too expensive now that I no longer have free hunting lands. I do oppose trophy hunting, since it's merely an ego boost, which most you probably believe I don't need. That being said, I prefer a S&W 40 to something as bulky as the subject weapon.

Wonder why cities with most restrictive gun laws have the highest crime/murder rates.
