Take away Detroit, Baltimore and Chicago and you will find our rate of violence is much farther down the list compared to other countries. Also don't forget that cities such as those have the most stringent gun control laws compared to other cities. When cities/states forbid the carrying/possession of firearms to protect the citizens then only criminals will have firearms. That my friend is common sense.

I see. Just don't include all the facts, and everything is fine. You and I have different definitions for "common sense" methinks.

They have done enough harm. We don’t need pictures of them.
“They”, who is they? Do “they” just hop out the door and start raining down terror? Wonder what the world would be like today if only the Axis and Japanese powers were the only ones armed in the 19teens and late 30s and early -mid 40s. Might want to reflect a tad on your position.

And what facts have I left out. Please feel free to let me in on something I may have missed. Let's get a good discussion going shall we?

I'd like to second your motion: NIH figures indicate we have 7 times the gun violence of other civilized countries.

I was a sharp shooter while in the navy. I only use my gun for target shooting. I also have a hand gun that I keep on my night stand. If someone breaks into my house at night they will go out in a body bag.

Did you happen to notice my comments regarding cities such as Chicago, Baltimore and Detroit? Take those cities out of the equation and watch the figures drop like a rock. Have you actually checked or are you happy in your ignorance just spouting facts that are not quite true. Are you also aware that those cities and others have the very highest anti gun laws in the nation. Tell me then what good are those laws if they do not work and if the city police do not enforce them. My word would be worthless.

But they don't offer any reasons why, do they?
Guns have not done any damage! They are inanimate objects! Just like your car!!
If you're referring to the AR platform then I have a surprise for you...they are commonly used for hunting all over the country.

You are correct. It seems that only with firearm deaths is the firearm blamed and not the shooter of that firearm. Vehicle accidents, stabbings, murders using a motor vehicle, murders by an axe or hatchet, frying pan or any other inanimate object the murderer is blamed. But when it comes to firearms and especially a semi auto rifle such as an AK or AR other far more powerful semi auto rifles are not banned. Why is it the firearm itself that is blamed and not the shooter?
Why is that? Why is it that Liberals call for those specific rifles to be confiscated from law abiding citizens who have done absolutely NOTHING wrong, illegal or immoral, and the rifles banned from use or possession?
Perhaps some Liberal with common sense can give me an answer.
