This is a dearly departed moth that found its way into our RV during our trip last week that I found laying in the track of the window. I always carry empty pill bottles with me for just such an occasion for I never want a chance encounter to go to waste.
finds: a terrible thing to waste...........another nice one

Thanks, Napabob. They must have a short life for I saw it fly by in there and then three days later I found it expired in the window where it must have been trying to get out.

Thanks, Tinusbum. I am humbled and I take that as the highest form of compliment for I view you as a master at the craft.
Lovely stack, it looks in such good condition.
Thanks, Mark. I'm working with a technique that appears to be working out okay.

Thanks, Brenda. I always enjoy hearing from you. I saw it flying around and then a day later found it expired and I put it in a bottle which I suspect is why it was still in good condition.
That's one really great shot Sippy! How many in the stack?

Since I've changed my setup and started using a crop sensor camera (Fujifilm X-T20), the number of images in a stack have dramatically reduced. This one was 160 and the one that I posted of the high magnification view of the eye was 120.
I tend to be conservative when setting up my stacks whereas I set the step distance to be smaller than they might need to be. This gives me a bit of an overlap of focus from image to image. I found that if I lengthen the distances it tends to leave some softness at times which drives me crazier than some may believe that I already am.
