Great Shot. Yes, maybe the stick was to maintain a little discipline at home.

I like the capture as it exposes the long legs of this raptor and prevents this from being just another osprey shot. Nice work!

We went to the nest site where we expected to find the fledglings flying around. The morning was overcast with FOG and fledglings were not doing ANYTHING ! Finally we got a little more light and the adult female appeared with a STICK for the nest ! - Why, I do not know ! From afar, I thought it was a big fish.

I was trying to use my A99 for BIF - which I am not completely confident of - and I paired it with my Sigma 100-300 f4 - mainly because the shooting distance was relatively close ( or so I thought) and the light was low (good for f4). I thought I had my camera set for high speed continuous - but was really surprised when I only got this one single shot ! 8-(

Sony A99, Sigma 100-300 @ 280mm ( meant to be at 300), 1/1600, f4, ISO 400 hand held with stabilizer brackets, shot as JPEG with PP in Elements 9 with a BIG cropping - down to only 22MP out of 67MP.....8-(

I think the osprey stole one of Harry Potter's broom sticks!

Must be time for his offspring to fledge. He's going to push them out of the nest with that stick! :)

As always, fantastic image. Isn't it a treat when you open in your computer and you get a keeper?
