I purchased a new Fujifilm lens and want to share the experience with those who may be interested and get your comments. I wanted to add a telephoto zoom lens to my Fujifilm XT-3 system and was somewhat undecided on the Fujinon XF 55-200mm F3.5-4.8 lens. The reviews were OK but not super; supposedly good image quality but not at the extreme ends of the zoom lens, slow autofocus, and creeping of the lens barrel. Two weeks ago, B&H had a sale on the lens ($649 and included Luminar 4 software application). It looked like a good opportunity to buy and I went ahead and purchased the lens. A few days ago, I filled the birdbath and sat around with the camera to see if any customers would show up. After about 20 minutes a pair of blue jays flew onto the birdbath and made a big commotion. I took about 25 RAW shots, lens fully extended to 200mm, f4.8, 1/300 sec, ISO 320. After some post-processing with Camera Raw, I found the image quality to be very good; and, the autofocus to be as quick and precise as with other lenses I use. Yes, the lens barrel does creep. Not much, but about an inch. Bottom line, I'm satisfied with the purchase and the cost/benefit ratio it offers. Attached are a couple of sample photos. Thanks in advance for your comments. Val.
I also have this lens and love it. It is on my X-H1. Yes, it definitely creeps. A wide rubber band controls that. It lives on my camera.
I have one that bought new and I never use it, too slow, I usually go for the 50-140.
