Went to the B&H site and found a used version. One thing led to another...

- I was surprised to learn that native aspect ratio is 3:2. I was thinking that is only with dslr's. I was pleased to see I can shoot manual mode to select shutter speed and aperture, while having the option of auto ISO. With these types of mirrorless cameras, you see real time exposure, so assigning a shortcut button for ISO makes adjustment simple.

These are shot in raw, edited in PS Elements and Nik Collection.

1. Cropped a little from each side, but not sure how I'll finalize this look. Leaves are slightly softened, blossoms slightly sharpened. Even shooting from the car, I have a hard time holding a camera steady. And the smaller I buy, the worse it gets

2. Sharpened throughout.

Anyone with experience with this Lumix DMC-ZS100, feel free to post photos and tips!

Results look good.

I carry it's many times Great Grandparent a ZS-6 in my shirt pocket when I leave the house. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember "leaving the house"? I may have to take driving lessons when I am allowed out. I haven't driven since early March.

I will also need to have my SUV cleaned. My wife thought it was too big when I got it in October. But she has used it for the grocery runs and doctor's runs to the point that her compact car has trouble starting due to lack of battery charge. My wife is the type who puts "STUFF" in a vehicle and never removes it, the layers just build up. I feel like Indiana Jones on a dig when I get something from her car. Well I went out to get her tablet phone etc for her after a grocery run. Opened the door to my SUV and - said a few choice words - no one close enough to hear. Put all her electronics into her tote bag (she plays Pokemon Go on about 5 devices plus cables and battery packs for most of them). Took it in the house, asked where do you want your electronics? Put them there, helped put away the groceries and went to the family room and my stuff. All the while keeping my lips glued together.
Sorry I rambled about this. Add "Pressure Release Valve" to your resume.

Carol and Donna, thanks for your interest! I'm sure glad I already knew a little about Panasonic cameras before I tackled setting up the menu choices on this one. I'll never again suggest a novice "read the manual"

I grabbed a used zs50 several months ago. Menu is very complex!

Were you able to download a user manual? I like having a pdf on the computer for ease of search via key words. Of course, if your search is "focus," there are hundreds of results

Share any concerns you have - if you have any. Maybe we can help each other.

Well done Linda. I love the first one, especially the rectangle of light on the left.

Let's face it though. You would probably do a wonderful photograph with an old box Brownie.

Very nice of you to say, Dennis. I'm glad you like that background spot of light. I felt it added to the composition, but I can see why some would suggest cropping it out.

Thanks for your visit!

Well, I think both photos are very well done. The first one is awesome to look at. Small cameras can do a very good job, but I, too, find them hard to hold still. I do much better with a heavier camera.
