There is a housing development near me that has one street that is entrance only. The cops sit in a parking lot waiting for people to exit so they can write a ticket. I pulled up next to the car and when the officer rolled down the window I asked him if he was writing a book. He replied, 'what the hell is that supposed to mean?' I told him with all the excuses he must get for people exiting through the entrance there must be a lot of material to work with. He burst out laughing, and I drove away.

Which mines me of the Police officer with the bubble gun machine, finally catches the young kid speeding, I finally catch you said the policeman, been waiting for you. The young man looks at him and saids, got here as fast as I could.

It's been my experience that the police and the military have no sense of humor at all. Cracking a joke can get you arrested, at best. I don't know that from personal experience but from what I've heard. Jokes are fine, but not when told to people carrying weapons.
