I am having some problems importing photos from a card reader to ;Lightroom. I know I have inadvertently
clicked on something that has caused my problem. When I click the import button, I then click on EOS Digital, when I do that the photos I am trying to import turn grey and the import button on the right side is black. How do I fix this.

Is this a SD card? Is it possible you have the protective switch on?

Do you have it set to "not import duplicates"? And along with that, are you sure you haven't already at some time in the past, imported the photos?

Is there a button for "check all?" Or did you click the image check box to select it?

Okay, are you familiar with the way lightroom shows photos that have previously been imported. They are kind of "grayed out". Is that what they look like? If so, maybe they've already been imported. Maybe?

I have discovered that the photos were imported under th headline of May 8 20. So they are on my computer but not where I wanted them. Thanks for th input I will find out out how to transfer them to a folder where I will now where they are.

Move them inside LR. If you move them using your computer directory the link will break. It's a simple drag and drop procedure.

Be cautious as you move them. Move a few and be sure they are where you wanted them.
It's easier to be cautious than it may be to " find " the photos later.

Lightroom gives you options on how to proceed. Just be reminded that your picure files are never in the lightroom catalog. The catalog is just a saved recipe for the adjustments. The picture files are separate in whatever folder you put them in. Lightroom just remembers where to find them.

If they are in the lightroom catalog now you can move them from within Lightroom. If you move them using another method no big deal you just have to tell Lightroom where you put them when it asks. There will be a little icon in the corner of those pictures. When you point to one files location there is a checkbox to also find near neighbors.

If they are not in lightroom yet you can move them any which way, then import them into lightroom from whatever folder you have them stored.

I'm used to using Lightroom classic, cc might have it's own quirks I don't know about.

Move them within Lightroom CC. That way LR will keep track of them.
