Of course you cannot get same sharpness as 24/70 2.8 aperture but there is a huge difference in price among the two

...and weight and size, especially the VR version of the 24-70.
It is a great lens, but it will co$t you.

For the same price as the 24-70, I would probably use a few primes more: lighter, closer focus and faster, but I would keep the 24-120. I like it that much.

I do realize the price diff, between the 2 lenses/ reason I got the 24-120- also for the range- I'll just
have to live with the lack of tack sharpness. I find my new 18-300 is as sharp if not a tad sharper.

Now, I'm looking to upgrade to a refurbished D7500.....maybe/ any thoughts?

Probably should post to the main photography section for that, but there are literally hundreds of threads about upgrading. I’d do a search. Look in the header with all the options for “search”

And use the “Quote Reply” option as I have done if you’re addressing a specific post.

ok go with D7500 , i have only FX cameras (D4 and D800) and FX lenses but i had the opportunity to test D7500 with Sigma 30mm F1.4 and i had very good results in terms of sharpness and general quality of the photo , above lens is very cheap and it is very lightly ( max 300$ )

Good to hear you had satisfactory results with the 7500 and sig 30 mm f1/4 I haven't totally made up my mind between the D500 and D 7500- but the 7500 fits my needs better/ I don't shoot Sports/birds in flight---except for the Blue Angels! For me hard to justify the extra $500 the 500 costs over the 7500- Thanks for your succinct input!

If you are going to a 7500 might want to look at the prices on the D810....few 100 bucks more at most.

They are also selling through ebay and have a store on ebay. That is where you will find some of their listings and also links to the actual store which is online as well besides through ebay.

I thought so. I was trading in my D7200 and had shipped it to them. The next morning I called them and bought the d500 outright and just had them pay me for the D7200. I was afraid the covid would delay things and I wouldn't have a camera. I was correct. It took a month to get my D7200 inspected. So glad my mind worked that day. Lol

Some of you had experience to buy something from Japan suppliers though e bay , they show great prices for cameras and lenses and conditions very good , any problem with custom duties ?
