That is, of course, a European Goldfinch. We don't have those in North America so it's a joy to see these photos. Well done.

It certainly is and thank you so very much for looking in and your kind comments stanikon.

two then three Goldfinch. I have tried for weeks to get a shot of a Goldfinch! All the birds were taken through the kitchen window and cropped. No chance of getting these pretty birds outside if I even blinked they were off.
So I stood in the kitchen as still as a statue at the ready with camera poised for what seemed like forever. You can see in the first shot it has been ringed. No chance of seeing the number.

The hedgehog is one of five we feed on a night, he was rooting before going to the food station.

Canon 650D, 18-55 & Tamron 18-400 lens.

Please try the downloads.

Sylvia, an awesome set and DDLs really are required to see all the sharp details. I do wish the Hedgehog was a little brighter.

Your very kind Greg and thank so much for downloading, your generous comments and thumbsup. Happy you enjoyed them. It was dark and I used a low flash on the camera so I didn’t frighten him. Below is the same shot brighter with pp.
