Wow! He and his class look amazing!! His is definitely the one for technical info on portrait lighting. Thank you so much! :)))
Hi Kimberly,
You might enjoy Annie's class then. I hope you do. I'm a big supporter of Master Class on the whole. I think it's a wonderful platform and they have the top people in their industry. Like I mentioned, I do however see different people take different approaches covering the same topics, especially the writing classes. I didn't take much from Patterson, but took a lot from Dan Brown and some from Balducci and Margaret Atwood so for me the fee was well worth the cost. Now that I've seen most of them, I stopped paying for a year to see what others they add in the future.
The skin retouching stuff is what Grimes is really very good at teaching. I have maybe 5 of this tutorials and take away something from each one. I usually forget the techniques and have to go back and watch them again but once you purchase them, you keep them forever. You used to be able to buy a life time subscription to each class in Master Class. I think you still can rather than paying year to year but with full access. I just think for $9 it's hard to go wrong. Joel Grimes can go fast in some of his videos and slower in others. I had to stop and replay them a few times but they always worked for me once I figured out exactly what he was doing. I don't worry so much about skin smoothing for images of my family, but it's nice to see his process.
Good luck,
Mike
Just so not to confuse, sorry if I did in my last remarks but Joel Grimes is separate from Master Class.
We were talking about both Annie L in Master Class and the sale that Joel Grimes is running today on his site. He runs sales pretty often but not always for $9.
I was excited to take Annie's class, I'm in the middle of watching her class and find that she rambles at times.
I did expect a little more technical but am trying to gleam what I can and believe you can get from the greats.
I joined Masterclass because of the wide and varied content which is hard to believe you can buy for the $180 price tag, the fact that you can gift the 2 for one, wow!!
Watch Gordon Ramsey on cooking, life philosophy, technical info, and watch him cook in real time dishes that you can master with enthusiasm.
Annie is a bit plain like watching Martha Stewart...both amazingly gifted women and artist.
