Or, 'end ended open. Open and . . . near.'
<chuckle, snigger, and snort>
Love the desert, rusted subjects. Good photo.

Fairly close, Doc. Five miles west, any need for a Geiger counter would be tantamount to someone 'needing' a flashlight on the surface of the sun. The <oooh aaaaah!> green glow that pulsates at night is tricky to photograph, though. I tried to shoot it once, but my camera melted before I could download any of the images. 'Spose the good news might be that being in the area offers anyone who enters some free radiation therapy to keep the cancer at bay.
Buddy of mine used to work as a uranium driller, then afterward at the local uranium mill. Years ago I had an old Toyota Landcruiser, and it didn't have a rear bumper. My buddy 'liberated' a hunk of heavy steel U channel from the scrap yard at the mill, and we fashioned it up into a bumper for the 'Cruiser. Figured if the taillights ever went out, it wouldn't be a problem: the bumper glowed all on its own. Same buddy often exclaimed that the only thing he ever noticed having worked around all that radioactivity for all those years was that each of his kids were born naked. He died of leukemia a few years ago.
Drag it home and fix it up. That'll buff right out! Lol.
Looks like a bad place to run out of gas Jim.
I paid attention because I like the visual design, the lighting, the depth of field and the muted colors.
Excellent shot.
