This image was emailed to Brian at Stewart's Photo, in Anchorage, Alaska, quite a while back.

Brian would like to know more about the image, such as the name and contact information of the photographer and who is the person in the picture. Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any information, would you please either post it here, or contact Brian Weeks, at Stewart's Photo, 531 West 4th Avenue, Anchorage, AK. 99501. Or by email: brian@stewartsphoto.com or by telephone: 907.272.85.81.

Thank you.
Horatio

Use reverse image search (google, tiny eye or the like).

That was shot on film (probably Kodachrome) and scanned (look at the dust spots) maybe 50 or more years ago. It's not likely you can track down the photographer or the subjects.

There is always hope that perhaps someone knew something, and I could get to the photographer or his family. Thank you.

Perhaps best to contact former employees of Stewart's Photo (specifically, those who worked there in the early to mid 60's) and find out what they remember of the incident; the photographer may have been a regular customer at the shop. Surely Stewart's Photo must have old payroll documents somewhere.

I wonder where that 1956(?) Cadillac El Dorado is today.

Wow! Vintage 4th Ave. Anchorage. Probably taken in the Fall since the Fur Rondy banner is up and no snow. When I want something photographic in Alaska, Stewarts is the place.

Ask local reindeer owners. They may know who owned reindeer and took them places on a leash back then

That looks like one of the first "Star, the reindeer). Star was kept in the fenced yard of a house on the edge of the Park Strip (chances are Brian knows that) and the man sitting on the car hood was probably Star's handler. There were several Stars over the years. This is probably the first one. I bet a check with Anchorage Daily News archives (if they still include those of the Anchorage Times, too) could provide answers to any questions.

I was thinking about 58. With a full restoration those are worth a small fortune (Well over $100,000) today. It could also be a Chrysler. Look at the pinkish color. I had a 58 De Soto with that color.

Looks like the 50's or the 60's. If it was 1960 and the photographer was 10 year old he/she would be 90 year old today. So unlikely the photographer is still living. May be the best bet is to trace the email address that sent the picture.

Better sharpen up your math skills, Bebu. Someone who was 10 years old in 1960 would have been born in 1950, and would be 70 years old today, not 90.

Identifying cars to find the year is an excellent idea if we find the newest one on the line...

i think the marque of the theater says Winner of the Academy Award, but I can't make out the remainder of the words.

Anybody else able to sharpen it enough to read it?
