i hope so , initially my target was a 24/70 f2,8 but price of this lens in very good condition is not less than $700 , i used both lenses and the price difference is not justified by quality , we pay one/two aperture steps more with the 24/70 but using the ISO accordingly for my opinion we can get same results

I have both, but find I the 24-120 a LOT more.
No, it's not quite as sharp, but it's a much more useful range.
It's all I used at a wedding I shot in France back in September.

KEH has a few, but higher than your budget $HERE.
MPB has a few just out of your price range: HERE.
Fred Miranda's classified had a mint one that sold a few days ago for $375.
Great place to buy used equipment.
You should subscribe and keep an eye out there unless someone here offers one for sale.

I suggest adding WTB or Want to Buy to your title so people know you're looking, not selling.

I recently acquired one along with the 750. I have been using a Tamron 28-105, 2.8. The Tamron has served me faithfully for maybe 8 years, but this lens is just as good. I think I can live with it being slower but I appreciate the wider range.

And a lens hood!
I need one for mine.

To the OP: If you buy something other than the newer f/4 version, you will be disappointed.
I’ve had previous copies.
Not. Even. Close.

I recently bought a Used
24-120 F/4 from Adorama in the mid $400s, and
a little disappointed in softness- expected a sharper Lens- Maybe its the copy I got,
or maybe I'm expecting too much. Will need to use it more before pronouncing it dead.

What do you shoot and with which body?

It’s not one of the “trinity” of zoom lenses, but it’s something I can live with for most of my shooting, which is mostly events and photojournalism. I use a D810. If it’s dark, I’ll pull out the 24-70 but the range of the 24-120 is so damn convenient and it’s lighter.

Of course you cannot get same sharpness as 24/70 2.8 aperture but there is a huge difference in price among the two

I do realize the price diff, between the 2 lenses/ reason I got the 24-120- also for the range- I'll just
have to live with the lack of tack sharpness. I find my new 18-300 is as sharp if not a tad sharper.

Now, I'm looking to upgrade to a refurbished D7500.....maybe/ any thoughts?
