This is my preserved Black Carpenter Ant that I staged on a piece of bark for a focus stacking session.

Thanks for viewing and the reply.
Nice.
Your shots should go into textbooks, excellent work and clarity.
Nice work!
The detail is astounding.
Beautiful image.
Please explain focus stacking, simple terms, how do you do it? I hear the phrase but don’t understand. Thank you

I often explain focus stacking using the example of taking a highly detailed image of an entire loaf of bread by taking a picture of each slice one by one as the camera is moved forward little by little for each shot.
Then all of the pictures of each slice are merged together to make one complete image that is sharp from front to back (of course the camera cannot see inside the loaf, although this gives an analogy of the process).
So...the camera is set to its most shallow depth of field. It takes a picture of the closest point of the subject that is in focus. The camera moves forward ever so slightly...takes another shot. Moves forward ever so slightly...takes a shot. Repeat, repeat.....until the farthest point away on the subject has been taken. Then they are all merged together using a software program.
Thank you, sounds complicated. I’ll just stick with enjoying others posts.
OMG! I think I ate one of those!😱😱😱🥱🥱🥱
As a resident of the "show me" state you have taken that slogan to the ultimate pinnacle! FANTASTIC!!
