Testing the waters to see if there is a market to sell my Canon Telephoto EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens. Moved out of my high-rise apartment and do not use it at ground level. Is yours a generation I, II or III? It seems to make quite a bit of difference in prices.

I can't say which for sure except I remember the 1.4 TC bought at the same time last summer is a III. Bought the 400mm right before the lighter weight version was starting to be shipped at several thousand bucks higher in cost.

Yours should be the version II, the lens has the model number on a little metal stamp near the Distance scale on the top of the lens near the mount.

Yep, this is off the B & H order dated July 2018: "EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens".
