I really enjoy using mine, I cannot believe the pictures that this camera makes and it is a joy to use albeit a lot of options...

Go to the 5th menu topic (brown) and to #5. Set to "Release shutter without lens" to "ON"
The switch is to the left of the AF-ON button looking at the rear of the Camera.
i had the same problem and i call Canon. Was told to take the lens and adp. off of the camera and then attach the adp. and then the lens. problem was that everything was not making contact.
It's not a switch it is a button. answer for the above.

If you hit quote reply people will know who you are responding to. Personally I use my MKIV 5DSR more than the the R simply because I shoot moving subjects (birds) and find that they are much better for moving subjects. But for just about everything else the R offers a lot of great features.
