The virus is quite real - no 'hoax' . It is very communicable - that is also quite real. If people were not ego-centric, and would look at impacts of their action on others, we would not have to have a nanny-state tell people to stay home when they are sick. Additionally - the most unusual part of this virus is that it has a potentially long incubation state where the virus can be transmitted even when no symptoms are apparent.

So to keep at-risk patients safe from the folks who don't care who are harmed, the oppressive governmental restrictions have a purpose. Not saying that every restriction is correct but that the government is functioning as it should to protect those who can be harmed through the carelessness of others. Personally I think it would be better if people just used common sense but there seems to be a shortage of that theses days.

I also wish that people would stop calling names just because they disagree. Not just on the part of politico's but everyone here on this forum (including me) has resorted to calling opposing views stupid or calling the person sharing them worse names rather than presenting factual evidence on why the commentor is not correct. Also what I see here with grouping people together and applying a derogotive name to them really shows the commentor's own shortcomings in being unable to understand and correct another's errant view .

I don't need a medical degree ( I have one) to know WOO when I hear it. No one, not one single person in position to lead, should even have speculated out loud about putting disinfectant into the human body. We know what we heard, but we also know some one at the base is going to go out and mainline Clorox too. It's not Fake News to claim he proposed it. And, ditto for light. UV-c kills viruses and bacterial. It can also blind you. Some supporters are going to run out, buy a UV source, and blind themselves. Bet?

So now we have the leader of our country suggesting that people could inject themselves with disinfectant and stick UV lights in their bodies to treat COVID 19. Talk about anti science and medicine... The source of this nonsense is at the top. He is the only one pushing the anti-science and anti-medicine agenda. His toadies fall in line and struggle to support his nonsense because if they don't, they will be fired. It's all about politics. He's more intrested in getting himself re-elected than fighting this pandemic. He doesn't care who he hurts as long as it helps him.

I understand your point of view and can't really disagree. But the one thing WE can do - on both sides - is when we hear something like the 'president said to inject bleach' is to look at the actual content instead of using what we hear in media. We need to look at the actual footage *in context* before using it to support our own jaded opinion.

Unfortunately, we do have a lot of folks who take what they hear in media as facts because that is the way media presents it. And I am sure that somebody will be killed by injecting themselves with some sort of external disinfectant.
