The first spring wildflower in bloom that I search for and find every spring is Coltsfoot! I transplanted some in my own flowerbed gardens last year and was thrilled to find a few blossoms a few days ago., but these shown here today were found along the highway yesterday. Some of you are maybe thinking",hmmmmm… just Dandelions!" No, Not so, The main difference between Coltsfoot and Dandelion is that Dandelions have leaves before they flower and Coltsfoot flower before they have leaves. Just look for leaves in the pictures and you won't find any! There are none because these pictures are of Coltsfoot!
In my own gardens the only other blooms to found were of Crocus, however most of their blooms are laying down lifelessly as we have experienced a lot of wind and rain recently although their purple colour is very vibrant and beautiful.
