I posted some time back about a Canon Rebel XT I got for $20 bucks. I added a 55-250mm lens. Here are a few photos I took with it the other day (except the butterflys, which was a few months ago). Not bad for $100 total.

Great!! Nothing to complain about with that combo. As a bargain hunter/DIY/fixer upper type myself, I say "good job"!!!

Fine close-up frames!

Those pictures are all a great demonstration proving that even a cheap camera can provide great results as long You know exactly what to do...
OK, the camera itself is a tiny part for succès...meaning the lens is much more important!

By the way...do You shoot sometimes such close-up frames with "dioptric fliters" ?
I would like to know what "dioptries-power" You would recommend to screw onto a 55-200mm lens.
I can afford such "dioptric lenses" while real macro-lenses remain an expensive utopie.

Merci for proving this one more time!

You seem to be a guy after my own heart - I love picking up bargain cameras. I picked up a Kodak Easyshare Z1012 IS (a bridge camera) almost a year ago, but I haven't posted an photo from it. Your photos are tempting me to go do use it and post some. Thanks for that. And thanks for sharing your pics.

Thank you, fjdarling, hour your kind words.
