Have used Elements for 10 yrs; never used their Organizer; I accidentally pushed a button(s) and the photos disappeared into the Organizer; have no clue how to find those pictures - have Googled, but the answers don't help

Suggest you take a tutorial and / or contact their help folks. I have later versions, but only use the editing tools. When I have contacted Adobe they have been very good.

Find the help manual online at Adobe? That might work.

I have tried, before this current crisis - waiting forever on phone; won't even try now until we are back to "normal"

Different times, I'd guess. Best of luck!

Have you tried using the help menu in the organizer for Elements? I use Elements 2019. I opened the organizer and clicked on the help drop down menu then chose "Elements Organizer Help" which opened a new window expressly for Elements Organizer. That should give you a good place to start.

What do you mean they disappeared? They moved from the hard drive? More likely you mean they disappeared from view inside elements. If so that is probably a matter of finding the right view.

I found this using google to search the Internet:
"On the home screen, click Organizer to launch the Elements Organizer workspace."

Here is a link to the Adobe Elements Users Guide:

I did go into the organizer space, finally, from the home page, and it says there is no media; so I guess the files didn't wind up in the workplace, but they were not in the original file, either; tried a search using a file name, but, that didn't work, either.

doesn't matter; I have re-edited the original 50; just thought someone might have done the same thing and knows the answer; thanks to all

I just had the same thing happen. I always downloaded from the camera to my own system of folders and sub-folders. The computer always asked me where I wanted the files to be downloaded and I simply identified the sub-folder I wanted to use - very easy. The last couple of times the computer just "sucked in" the photos without giving me any options. I went into the organizer and there they were. Now I have to figure out how to bring them into processing from there. I just love it when my computer decides to change the way it does things. I'll continue to follow this discussion with interest.

I've used PSE for years, and I believe the photos are not stored in the organizer, it'd just a kind of directory to the actual location. On my laptop, they are stored in my pictures library. I wonder if you accidentally told elements to "move" them from where you originally put them to somewhere else? It's possible to do this from the same place you would use to "copy" them to a different location, but if you choose to move them rather than copy them they will no longer be found in the original location.

Did you check the "folders" section? When I import, I'm asked for folder title or default chronological. The new Folder pictures come up prior to Organizer, and I can always go back to the Folder section to retrieve or check.
To edit...click on a photo..on the bottom, click on Editor and the editing screen will pop up
I'm not a PSE whiz, but Iove my Organizer!

Computers only do what you tell them to do. It’s only "magic" if you don’t have a good handle on what the computer is doing. The Organizer is just a data base that keeps track of where your photos and their edits are located. It contains a thumbnail of your photos but not the photos themselves. Your photos can’t disappear into the Organizer. You must have performed a "Move" function somehow that moved your photos to another folder perhaps. In The Windows File Manager, browse to the C: drive and do a search on the file name of one of your photos and note the resulting directory string for its location. That would be where your files are. From your description, this is the best I can figure out for what may have happened.

as I said, I inadvertently quicked something, something flashed on my screen for a split-second, before I realized it was there and got a good look at it; I am sure it said "Organizer," so, it had something to do with that. Nonetheless, I just re-did he originals and moved on.

Sounds like you are trying to tell us the EDITS got lost. Could you have possibly closed them and clicked "don't save?"
