I use lots of different SD cards in my multiple laptops' internal card readers. Laptops are 8-12 years old. Without being able to track specifics, I can say that some cards have not worked in some computers, while other cards work fine in the same computer.

Have you tried smaller, slower cards in the computers you are having trouble with?

For the Dell at least, check the Dell <support.dell.com> site to see if there is an SD card driver for your computer that is newer than the computer. It could possibly make the reader more capable.

My laptop tends to grab and hold onto cards. My solution? Card reader.

Cheap enough to buy several, one for each computer. Have used for years, no problem. USB3. I also bought a 1 foot USB extension cable as the laptop's USB ports are on a downslope edge.

Do what crushr13 said. SDXC cards are not universally readable in card readers, computers or cameras. When new technology comes along, devices that are older than the technology can have trouble with it.

Or, buy a USB card reader that will handle SDXC cards. Be sure that it says on the box that it will handle SDXC specifically. I had a card reader that only did SDHC, and it would not read SDXC cards. Then, you should be able to get the photos off the SDXC card and into your computer, or into a USB flash drive via your computer.

Thank you will do as my card reader are as old as my computers 😔

Check on your computer's specifications file if it will work with SDXC. If it will then it may be the card reader. I have a SDXC in my Lumix ZS60. At first I had a problem with it not being read by the computer's internal reader. Then checked the specs for that and found SDXC was not one of the ones read by it. Bought a USB reader that specified would read SDXC and that fixed the problem.

Thank you I never did check specs but someone suggested viewing from camera which did work and also bought a card that reads SDXC, all’s good ☺️
