LensBaby advice

I shoot with a Canon 5DM4, and was thinking about trying one of the lensbaby lenses. I was deciding between the Sol 45 and the Twist 60. I was wondering if anyone has used either, or both, and which would be recommended as a good first lens of this type. Or, if there is a better "starter" lens with lensbaby, I would appreciate the suggestions. I think that it might be fun to experiment with something like this, during this stay at home period. The lenses I currently have are: 50, 100, 24-104, 100-400, amd 70-300. Thank you for any suggestions and advice!

There is a LensBaby section https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-125-1.html it doesn't seem very active, but it wouldn't hurt to ask there.

I like the Lensbaby Velvet 56. I'm using an Olympus Micro 4/3rds camera. So the Velvet 56 works well. It give me nice soft focus all around the subject. The SOL is a good starter lens. It allows you to set the focus point where you want it and with the BOKEH blades you can have some fun.

Here is a link that might help.

Also check out Anne Belmont she is a Lensbaby expert if ever there was one. -

If you go with any of the Lensbaby Sweet or Edge optics you will have to get the Lensbaby Composer Pro

Lensbaby's are a lot of fun. They can produce some really nice flower photography. But the softness it's not for everyone.

I only have one LB at the moment, the 56mm Velvet, but have had a lot of fun with this lens and highly recommend it. It's manual, so playing around with it, only makes it that much more fun and interesting. I use it on my Canon 5d3 as well as my Canon 7d2. As a starter LB you can go wrong. The LB forum is a smaller group but there are a lot of knowledgeable folk there. Whichever you chose to get, have fun and make sure to share your photos with us

Call up lens baby They are very nice people and will be very helpful to you. Might not always be immediately available during this time of the coronavirus. But I’m sure they’ll get back to you soon as possible and answer all of your questions
