Good reply and explanation, though not of the original acronym I am still in the dark about. My background in addition to photography is in Biology. For academic publications one is usually required to write out even common terms the first time they are used in a paper. Sure most people know what DNA stands for. But does everyone know EDTA, ATP, GC-MS.
So you understood my point and I didn’t "bore the hell out of you" like some other Hog was. Good to know. Thank you for your feedback. Stay healthy!

Holy CRAP!!! You could have stopped after the very first paragraph and been somewhat OK ... Please practice more concise writing skills. You bored the hell out of me.
Thank you for your feedback. Some other members evidently disagree with your assessment. Are you volunteering to be my editor? Stay safe.

It is an amazing camera but for wildlife and birds in flight it's buffer is not up to Sony standards.

I use it if for birds and wildlife and have gotten amazing shots. Tell wildlife experts like Mark Smith that it doesn't work and he will laugh at you. Check him out and know that in the right hands it works beautifully. FYI , I am a pro of over 40+ years in the business and have used about every brand and type of gear around the world and know what works and what doesnt. Cheers

Well, I guess I should be glad that you’re proud of your expensive camera, feeling justified, likely in retrospect, about spending all that money on it. I, too, felt that tiny retrospective jolt of justification when I bought my first digital ILC in 2006, the Sony dSLR A-100, and then again in 2010 when I bought the Sony dSLT A-55.

But I have to wonder whether billnikon is right! I suggest you go back to page 2 of this topic and read his post of 07:47:16.

Probably, because in another tread somebody asked that question, and Itatko decided to answer it on a tread if its own.

well said, I frequently find myself scratching my head trying to figure out what the acronym being used means.

"Probably?" Gee, you might be correct! But why not be explicit instead of cryptic, withdrawn into the machinations of one's own mind?

Answer: Because at the time, it likely didn’t occur to him. BUT then, ONCE solicited, why not clarify? And therein lies the problem for some.

Well, it could be just like you said, but, are you him to definitely know the reason why? He hasn't answered yet. When he does we will surely know, Gee.

This latest question of yours is now irrelevant. He did subsequently respond, rather vaguely. You simply haven’t read the entire thread. There’s absolutely no point in debating this any further as it is now moot.

Stay healthy. 😎

Could just be me, but why use all these acronyms in the first place. Laziness comes to mind, but that's just a guess.

Oh, bull!

There is no such sin. The closest you came to "committing one" was your not responding soon enough to those who asked you to clarify it, but that may been involuntary on your part. I suggest you endeavor to make your question clearer and reply in a more timely fashion next time. If that means not writing it off the top of your head impulsively, then don’t. If that means writing a draft, sleeping on it, THEN reviewing it, then do so. Repeat drafting as needed; that’s what I often do.

Stay Safe!
