Kudos to you for your interest in what is beyond the scope of your vision.
I am a born armchair traveller, and since recently breaking a few ribs , I am comfy in front of my computer.

I guess one needs to continue reading through several pages of comments before responding to one.

Just for fun let us see a photo your front foyer.
Something to do while we are locked up.
Here is ours with all the stuff in it.
The western theme is period appropriate for a Victorian home. The distant 2 photos are of my grandfather in Mexico. The saddle was my great grandfather's.
Well here is our foyer ... not too exciting, but less dusting than yours :-)

Great Photos from All :) :)
Greetings Architect1776, I have commented previously on the external design of your house which I really like. I also like your foyer and the way you honor your family's past by the furnishings. I have some questions. Do you use the fireplace often? I would guess that it is gas? The ceiling light looks like an old one, but these days you can't necessarily tell. Is it original to your house? I wonder about the small table on the landing; what was its original purpose. Is there a family connection with it and the hall bench holding your hats? The mirror on the landing makes it appear that the wall opposite is relatively close and maybe opens to the outside. Is that right or am seeing things wrong? Then as you go up the stairs, it appears there is another smaller landing where the stairs make a turn and go on up. There is a door that appears to open to a level that is higher than the foyer, but lower than the upstairs. What is the story with that? Back to the foyer, who painted the picture of the cowboy you have hanging in the small semi circular nook above the fireplace? And finally is there a counterpart on the wall opposite of the cowboy? The mirror on the landing seems to indicate this. Well that is the end of the questions. I think you will have to admit that I took a close look at the image you posted. Just an aside here, I have always liked those houses that if somehow you were in them, you would feel like you knew something about the person living there simply by what they had on the walls and sitting around. You might also find that there is not much there from which to draw conclusions or they let designers decide how they will present themselves to the rest of the world.
In the case of my house, the back door is the one we use, it is on the inside of a closed end gallery porch and opens into our kitchen. The front door also opens into a hall with the stairs immediately in front of us. The house was build with brick from the property several years prior to the Civil War and sits on about five acres. The house is a heap right now as we are working on it, but maybe later on when I start posting images on UHH, I will post some images. I may not always agree with every jot and tittle of your politics, but I do admire your aesthetics. Thanks for posting the image of your foyer and all the other images of your house.

That's very impressive, i had to move in a 1 bedroom apt. so i have no foyer to speak of.

Well, here's ours but it's not a foyer but an entrance hall...

Very nice, Like the plank floor. An elegant and inviting light that goes well.
