I stepped up from my nikon d3300 to a d750. I feel i got a great deal on a used camera from used photo pro. I shoot mostly sports car and motorcycle racing. I felt the auto focus on the 750 is pretty fast. I can`t wait until this lock down is over to try it out. All the lenses i bought while using the d3300 were fx lens, so i`m set for now.
I`ve read some good articles on basic set up and there are tons of youtube videos too. Now I need the racetrack to open up. They cancelled all of April and May is still being decided.

Congratulations. I had a D750 before my D850 and found it to be a great camera.

Congrats on your new camera. You know you don't have to wait for the racetracks to open to use or try your new camera. You don't have to stay inside your house you can go outside take some photos get used to the camera. Street traffic isn't as fast but you might be able to shoot something there.

Love my D750. Spend some time understanding AF and metering modes and set it to the way you like to shoot BEFORE you go to the racetrack.

How near to I-95 are you? I drove that road for several years in New Jersey and it passed for a local race track at the time. Great variety of vehicles gives you unlimited creativity. Light-trails are rampant. I spent a small fortune on Kodak processing of those. That highway has its own culture. Caution, don't park on an overpass and shoot on-coming vehicles.

I am a good distance away from 95. I live in western Maryland. Summit point racetrack is in Wv. Only about 45 minutes from me. i also have Hagerstown speedway too, but i`ve never been there.

That's a dam good idea using the motorway to practice and experiment with different focus modes. Focus tracking etc, raceday is too short to waste.

Congrats. The D750 is a tried-and-true winner.

Lucky you over there. In the UK, we cannot go outside to enjoy ourselves, even on our own. Not just restricted to groups.

Enjoy your new camera. I upgraded from a D5100 to a D750 in January of this year and absolutely love it. I had a Jon Sparks book for 5100 and bought the same for the 750. The book is about 20 bucks and available on line. Just my 2 cents worth.

Keeth: Which tracks do you go to for auto and motorcycle racing?
Any in Maryland? Are there some tracks where you can really get in good positions to really catch exciting action?
I am sure you will love the 750. I never had one of those, but a 700 was my first full-frame digital. I loved that camera. Enjoy.
