Here's the facts
Montana's population was 1,068,778 in 2019, We have 145,552 square miles of LAND, this does not include any water. That means there are 7.3429 people per square miles.

There is 27,878,400 square feet in a square mile, so each person has 3,796,647 square feet. That is 1,948.4986 by 1,948.4986 feet for each person. if each person stood in the center of there square they would be .3690 miles apart.

With 56 counties, 28 have zero reported cases, 8 have 1. That's 64.2857% of our counties with 1 or less cases.

We have 387 confirmed cases, or .00032095 of our population.
With 6 deaths that .00000561388 of our population

So far this year we have had 29 people die in traffic accidents.

I think all roadways should be shut down as deaths on the roads are 4.83333 times worse.

YES THIS IS A BAD THING! BUT WE HAVE TO BRING COMMON SINCE BACK INTO THE EQUATION

Here's the facts br Montana's population was 1,068... (show quote)

"e" and "i" are quite far apart but the "c", I'll attribute to lack of finger/keyboard dexterity.

Could you add some context, or at least use 'Quote Reply' so everyone knows who you are talking to?

North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Arkansas have not shut down there state as of the last report

I think you had better check that South Dakota situation. You should be thrilled that you have so little infection going around. Your governor's edict may well KEEP it that way. I seem to remember your hero Trump declaring that it was a hoax and that it will all just miraculously go away. Prescience is NOT his forte. How many hospitals do you have in Montana that can handle a large outbreak? It's better to be SAFE than SORRY.

Common sense is not all that common anymore.

But lets not compare apples to oranges and try to justify one's beliefs.

Nice exercise but does every person live in the middle of the land patch you described? Or do some of them live , work and visit suburbs? Lets listen to the scientists who tend to apply some locic as to how people can be exposed and what actions to take. Quit listening to the politicians

BBC news UK showed the President claiming sole responsibility for decisions about lock-down in USA??

Yeah, he's pretty clueless when it comes to understanding the US Constitution and its 27 Amendments. Amendment 10 states, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people."

I doubt his claim to absolute power will make it very far. If it does, we're doomed.

We have an enormous number of very wealthy political donors who control most of what happens in Washington, now. Mitch McConnell, Senate Majority Leader, funnels their requests to Trump. That power block — the Senate and the Executive Branch — is why we're so dysfunctional right now. Behind the scenes, the major multi-nationals are controlling things via their lobbying and campaign donations. But of course, Trump supporters are blind to this. NONE of the news media cover it very well, because it's buried deeply, behind the circus tent.

Trump is a foil for this. He appeals primarily to the populist, socially conservative wing of the Republican party. Without those folks, the country clubbers wouldn't be able to get anyone elected. It's... complicated. But so long as we have people on both sides who truly ignore what's REALLY happening on the other side of the political fence, it will get worse.

Someone said that 'politicians are idiots'. Well friends, our system allows for representatives to go to Congress to 'represent' us. If you are smarter and abler than your Representative, why not consider running for office and fix the mess you see? The founding fathers struggled to create a system which was one, wholly new and more importantly, representative of the people. This sort of system is slow , messy and suffers from the handling and mishandling of its representatives. On the other hand, a dictatorship is streamlined and quick. Also intolerant, devious, brutal and uncompromising and unless you are a crony, you are powerless and at risk.

No, I called them, "free-sex commie liberals."

The whole post was satire. I believe in equal opportunity insults.

I'm smack in the middle of the political spectrum, and abhor extremism of any kind. Each side is correct, at least some of the time. Just follow the money...
