welcome. I have the a6000 along with the a99ii, a7Riii, HX-400v, and RX100mv. I find the a6000 the best bang for the $$$ camera. It will do almost everything it's FF big brothers will do but with a lot less weight and bulk.

Great little camera for travel. Packs nice in carryon including tripod and tele... Don't have to carry around 50# of DSLR equipment...

I have a ton of books I've begun to read and yes I've started a notebook for reference and a separate journal. Covid-19 has challenged everyone and I trust you take advantage of this time to hone your skills and help newbies like me... Don33772 is a zipcode. Sony a6000 is my camera and love it!

Don the Sony a6000 got me started in stills and video. I got some video work and my triathlon shoot
and edit with a Nikon D800 worked OK. Not quite up to speed on video yet. Happened to go to London and grabbed a Sony NEX camera couldnt believe it's fun and imagery. But then the a6000 and was impressed. I got the a6300 and was astounded with it's imagery, size 4k, and mirrorless usability. And the a6000 started it all.
Be safe. Shoot pretty women. And enjoy life.

I too can not speak more highly of my Sony a6000. I have 2 primes, Sigma 30 mm 1:1.4; Sony 50 mm. Added the 10-18, 55-210, and the kit lens 16-50. Most recently I've been exploring macro photography using a Meike set of 10 and 16mm rings. The black foamy thing that
Neil van Niekerk brought into common use with on camera hotshoe comes in handy when keeping things highly mobile with a StrobePro X35. Great for shooting walk arounds indoors at receptions etc.
I have been gifted a StrobePro XT remote trigger which has come in handy when fill light is required outdoors or when off camera key or fill light is required.

There is faster auto focussing with the newer a6300 and a6600 cameras but as said earlier the best bang for the $ I ever got out of buying a camera.
The first year it was out I bought with Can $ the camera and kit lens for 495.00. Yes it was a steal of a deal for sure.

I'm a keen cyclist and have had great shooting opportunities carrying the 10-18 and 55-210 along with the kit lens attached in a Think Tank TurnStyle 10 V2.0 bag that can be over one shoulder or wraps around above your hips (when I'm riding)
Enjoy the camera. Best reference books are David Busch's hard copy and Friedmann's eBook.

My most used PlayMemories Camera Apps is the Touchless Shutter release and then the smart Remote Control. Thumbs up on the Meike rings too.

Welcome. I have that model of camera. It takes a sharp photo with the right lenses. I have used the Sigma Art lenses (cost +-)$149.00. Sharper than factory oem short zoom, if you are interested to know?

Welcome to the Hog Farm (Forum)! Using the Sony A6000 will make photography a very enjoyable activity. Please remember that your are the brains behind the machine. You are the photographer and the camera is just a tool (albeit, a wonderful tool). You are no longer a newbie!!!
