We're closer to Hawaii--in San Diego this week it's between $3.40 and $3.70 per gallon. On the other hand we're driving much less and have a Prius so we'll probably go two months between fill ups.
Last week there was discussion about gasoline prices, I just received a letter from my niece in Iowa, she paid a 1.72 a gallon, today's price for regular gas here on Maui is $3.70
Modesto CA 2.279 at Costco other stations are at 2.499 and up. I still work five days a week and drive 90 miles one way to work. I fill my tank daily, although I could fill every other day but with construction and potential for accidents I choose to fill everyday to avoid running out of fuel. I don't buy fuel on my days off but the first day I go back to work.
Starting next week I get and extra day off with pay but the down side is I have to be on call for that day.
I call it the “carpenters dilemma.” When you are working you don’t have enough time to do the woodworking you want to do but when you aren’t working you can’t afford the materials.
In ATL suburbs, $1.28 for regular and $1.59 for premium at costco, less 4% with credit card purchase. I'd still take higher gas prices in exchange for the freedom to be out taking pictures wherever I want to go.
I live in Pennsylvania, very near the New York border and there is a Native American Nation in the area. Because they are a sovereign nationthey do not colet or pay state or federal taxes for purchases. There are several gas stations on the property and last week they had gas for $0.75 to $0.81 per gllon. A lot of people were making the trip to get that gas. Native Americans getiing a little money back from the white man.
I would have thought prices in your area would have been more. Prices here in Dutchess County are still over $2.00 per/gal. $2.29 last week when I gassed up.
