What is the fastest, easiest, most repeatable way to put your signature on your photographs? And, how to keep it in proportion if the photographs are enlarged?

Using a brush a mogul suggested is a good way, but you DO NOT want to keep it to the same proportion in all images. If by that you mean the same proportion of the frame in a 5x7, 8x10, 16x20 or 30x40.

The size in a 5x7, if kept the same proportion if the image were made into a 30x40 would be too big. That is the advantage of the brush solution as you can size it properly to the enlargement.

A couple of days ago, Sarge69 had a post about a free bulk watermark program. A Search should find it.

Most photo editing programs have a text application feature that allows you to adjust size, location, and text darkness on a pic. When you open that feature, and if you are using windows xp, press the alt key and type 0169. That will pop up the copyright symbol (©) which you can follow with your name and date. Size it and move it to where you want it on the pic then ok it. You can do a web search for copyright symbol and find how to do this with other windows programs.

I 'save as' for the pics I put the copyright text on. Saves you the trouble of trying to remove it if you want it off the pic for any reason. You still have the original as you originally saved it.

I often use the watermark brush, especially if I am processing a number of photos and want the same copyright info on all of them. But I often use another way, which is much more elegant, and I think that by her mention of "signature" is what BlueHawk might have had in mind.
I often do artistic photoreproduction, even sometimes in BW, and, like any other artist was looking for a way to "sign" my photos for printing, just like a brush artist would. I use my signature, just as they would.
First sign a piece of white paper with the signature exactly the way you want it, then scan it (usually as a jpeg or even better as a tif,) with a transparent background. This can also be done using any graphic that you want to include (including the copyright marc.) This only has to be done once...now you have it saved as your signature, graphic, or however you want it, and never have to do it again.)
When the photo post processing is complete to the way that I want to print....I import it as a new layer, place that layer on top, and then I can change the size, position, transparency, color, etc. of the signature depending on the photo that is being signed it.s colors, etc;.
Takes just a little work getting the signature and/or graphic scanned, but once you have it, it is only one click to place it onto your photo.
I'm no Rembrandt, but it is really great to actually see the photo signed by me, just the way he did with his paintings.

I use a free download program called Photo Scape. It does very nice graphics and you can re-size them to fit in the corner or where ever you want the graphic to be.

You can't scan in your real signature with this program but with all the fonts Windows has available you should be able to find something. It's not the best out there but it does work.
