Good day Gentlemen, hope all is well with everyone. My question is, i am currently using Lightroom Classic, and i would like to ask that i am considering Capture One instead of LR, because of the non-compatibility of the OS Catalina. I haven't upgraded yet, but if i do i read an article that says that you can still use or import your LR presets to Capture One. would anyone know if this is possible? I do have a lot of them and would hate to lose them, then i would consider not upgrading from mojave to catalina. Thank you for your help.
Lightroom Classic is compatible with Catalina.
Find another reason to switch to Capture One.

ok, thank you, but i read somewhere that there was an issue with that upgrade concerning 32 bit, and 64 bit difference.
I will give it a try, thanks again!

I use Lightroom AND Capture One. For images destined to be edited in C1 (Sony-only at the moment), I import into Lr, then open C1, and create a session with the images imported into the Lr catalog. I've created export presets that make psd files after editing in C1, which I import into Lr's catalog, where I can then launch On1 or any other plugins, since C1's support for plugins is still pretty thin.
I don't use Lr presets, so I can't answer your question about importing presets.
From what I understand, Catalina is not an issue with Lr Classic.
ok, thank you guys for your help i appreciate it. i have thus upgraded to Catalina and so far so good. I chatted with Adobe and they assured me it was ok to upgrade as long as it's the latest version of LR, which i currently have.

Gene, are you using the Sony exclusive complementary version of Capture One that is provided with the purchase of a camera? Fuji buyers also get the same thing when they buy, I believe, and many prefer it over LR/PS.
FYI
I have a Mac, upgraded to Catalina and lost the ability to continue to use an older version of Photoshop Elements. 32 bit version. I am not about to purchase the newer version. I am still using it on my MacBook since I have not upgraded that to Catalina.
I had other problems with Catalina on the IMac and had to reinstall the whole thing.

You need to check the dates on the information you are reading on-line. Adobe issued a fix for the Catalina bugs shortly after Catalina was released. I have it and PS and they work great. Currently on OS X 10.15.4.

There might be reasons for you to switch but using macOS Catalina is not one of them. I have been using Catalina with LR Classic on my 2013 MBP and LR is slower than it was with Mojave but it works fine.

Fuji buyers do not get a complimentary version of Capture One. You can buy a Fuji Only version of Capture One, which is less expensive than the regular version.

Apple notified users, starting at about 18 months early that Catalina would NO work with 32 bit software. Catalina (current version) and the current version of Lr Classic work flawlessly together and I have been using both for what I would guess is about an year. ANY 32 bit software WILL NOT work with Catalina. Just keeping up with the times. Best of luck.
Fuji is shipping a free download of Luminar 4 with every X 200 V and most new lenses

Okay. Thanks, apologize for assuming Fuji buyers were receiving the same perk as Sony. There I go again..... assuming.....
