Before I post this on the official for sale site, I thought I would throw this out to see if it is feasible. The reason it is priced so low is because there is a 1/8 inch scratch on the lens; otherwise in E condition. Maybe out of 50+/- images, a spot will show on the photo which is easily removed in post processing. If ya' all think it is worth the time to post, I will take photos showing the actual lens, serial #553479, the original box, manuals, warranty card, bill of sale, etc. Thanking you in advance for your opinion and advice.

I would definitely include a photograph of the scratch, as well as the overall of the lens.

Thanks, I plan on posting all photos; including the scratch. This is just a feeler to see if my proposal is reasonable. I have never sold any of my equipment and since I have 2 of the 14-24 and this sits on the shelf, in it's case, I thought I might try to sell it.

A scratch on the front element will create an area of lower contrast and in some cases, flare. You won't actually see a spot.
The cost to replace the front element is about $400. You are better off getting a better used copy for around $900 and not bothering with repairing it. On the other hand, having it repaired is the same as having it completely refurbished. So for $900 you get what some stores are charging $1200.
