Just passing along some info. Yeah, I know, who really cares on here about smartphone cameras.....
Yes, a 'real' camera is my choice but Samsung is definitely looking to up the ante in the smartphone camera world. The S20 has three models...S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra.
The Ultra has a 1/1.33 sensor for it's 108mp wide angle. Plus, a 12mp ultra wide,a 48mp tele, and a Depth Vision camera with 10X hybrid optic zoom and a Super Resoluton zoom of 100X. Didn't notice if it is RAW capable. They also operate on the 4G LTE network.
Are they looking to take a bite outa the real camera market? Might be a great backup camera but I'm still considering a Canon G5Xii or Lumix LX100ii for EDC. Not going to get GAS over a phone.

My existing phone has a failing charger port. Rather than have it fixed, I just ordered the S20. It will arrive today. It should be fun to play around with it while i'm self quarantined. (I'm in Washington)

👍 Looks like an awesome camera...for a cellphone.
I've been looking to get a new camera. I've narrowed my choices to the Nikon D850 DSLR, the Canon 90D DSLR and the Samsung S20 camera.
With the quality of many cell phone cameras these days (I'm partial to Samsung Androids) I'm getting to the point that I don't carry P&S or DSLR with me anymore when I travel. The cell phone takes quality pix. Now, if I was trying to sell my photos or compete them in a show it would be another matter!!

The new Galaxy S20 is looking like an awesome backup. If I were to go that route, I'd get the Ultra. A bit big but the best camera features, especially with the 108mp wide.

I lean towards the Ultra as well. I'm holding off on purchasing it though until things with this CV-19 situation settle down and hopefully the economy along with it.

I'm sure 'things' will settle and get back to normal-ish. I'm also, now, considering an Ultra over a pocket camera. Just gotta find out if it's RAW capable. Still would like to have that flexibility.

I just got off a chat with a Samsung rep. The camera renders photos in JPEG format by default but it can be changed to RAW in the camera settings.

👏 Bravo! Would definitely consider an S20 as a backup. My choice would be the Ultra. I can deal with its larger size. Thanks for your research.
A couple of days ago I got a Samsung A50. Mid-range phone. It has a 25MB camera. I think that's more than my best camera. Only viewed a few photos on the screen and they look really great. Hope they aren't that good after I enlarge them.
