Many people over saturate for one reason or another. Some because they don't know when to stop, some because they do not understand how to use the HDR settings and some might be because they do not see colour as well as some others amongst us, and some because their monitors are set at a lower saturate point that others may have their monitors set at.

What ever the reason, some people just like that false look of over saturation, some people just don't want to hear criticism of their work and others did not realize just how over saturated their work was, and then act upon what the majority of people as advising them to do. Everyone on here, is different, just like all the rest of us (pun intended). You need to decide which type of member you are, and act accordingly.

You will never be able to produce a photo that will suit everyone's personal taste on here, or any other forum, because that is simply not possible. If you wish to leave, that's fine, if you wish to rethink and stay, that is also fine but it is your choice. What ever you choose, life will go on, however, your choice will please some and make others miss your contributions, if you leave. If you stay, it will please some and give others a reason to wake up in the morning, just so they can tell you how much they don't like your saturation.

Do remember though, that some people begin to over saturate and get so used to it that they just keep adding a little more, and a little more until they loose touch with reality. The best use of HDR is when a viewer thinks your image stands out, but can't quite put their finger on why they think it stands out as an exceptional photo. A photo that is way too green in the grasses and way too blue in the skies and way too punchy in all the other colours present, is clearly an over done, or overly saturated image.

There are plenty of images in this forum that are overly saturated by the maker and plenty that are too bland and plenty that are badly done as a black and white, or are sepia, when they think they just created a black and white. There are also a good number of excellent photos on here, from composition, subject matter, post production and point of interest focusing. I have been looking at all these for years on here. Some times I comment, but most of the time I just sit back and let things go by. If the over saturation comments affect you, then act upon that and try to improve. With that said, if only one or two comment that it's overly saturated, maybe that is not very relative, but if many state that, then it might be a valid point. What ever it is, you need to decide how you feel about that. If such comments don't bother you, then there is little if any reason to leave.

I've had fun looking at all your photos. Especially those that vary from my kind of photography. Birds, macro photography, flowers and other such specialized shooting. There are a few people here who should look into posting their photography at "I Shot It", which is a photo contest site that pays the winner money. Usually in excess of $500.00 for the winner. The B&W category is over $2000.00 for the winner. Anyway, I had created a pretty large "Buddy List" in the process of posting and viewing. I've had a surprising number of views on most of my posts but I think my "over saturation" (as I've been told) has kept many from commenting, but to me getting views amounts to the same as getting a comment. So thanks to everyone here and you never know. I just might sneak in another post or two in the future. And I thought I'd go out with a Bang!
