I saw this guy stand up on his feet instead of slithering on his belly so I knew something was up. He had his eye on something in the water that I couldn't see. He was VERY fast. I don't know if he got whatever he was after or not.

Nice action shots.

They used to show up on the driveway around the lake at my house/studio in Lutz, Fl. on occasion. They were very tasty.

Yep, so I've heard. I had some Crocodile nuggets at the Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi while I was in Kenya. Taste like chicken, kind sorta.

Good shooting.
They are said to do 30mph in short bursts. That is 44 feet per second.
True or not? Yes, true, do the math.
The alligator? I take 'their' word for it.

CHIEF!!!!
You didn't have to go out of your way to get some great gator shots for me! Another great set

Keep in mind this is around the time of year they start dating and mating in Florida, so they will be more active, agitated, and probably noisier than usual. Hope you stay on them for a bit.

Thanks very much, Bill. I'll have to trust you on the math. But I think "very fast" is accurate.

Thanks, John. These were just for you. I hope you feel all warm inside.
I would love to stay on them but the Wildlife Drive here has "closed for the fore-seeable" future. That's what we came down here for, so we might as well head North. Oh, wait, all the RV Parks that we called, both civilian and military are not open to travelers, so we will have to shelter-in-place where we are. I hope this doesn't last too deep into the summer.

You are in Gator alley, you just find some body of water and there are alligators

Yeah, I hope you guys can get around soon. They did start closing things down up here due to a pulse in outbreaks in the area. It's not as bad as south and central Florida, but Escambia County started shutting things down pretty early.

Yeah, we've been staying at a Golf and RV Resort at someone's recommendation. I got a couple shots of a small one in one of the ponds on the golf course.
If you wander around outside here with less than a full chemical suit on you're looked at like a mass murderer

Thank you, Mike. I guess I'm lucky not to have one of those.

Great shots Keith ... & hear you on the closures ... I've heard roads around here are being closed although I haven't been out. Good to take the warnings seriously ... & hope we get by this horrid virus. Thanks for sharing ... they are very interesting shots.

Great shots. I watch Swamp People on cable. They are in Louisiana and hunt gators for living. A wild and dangerous occupation for sure, but love watching it. Thanks for photos.
