Nice to be able to capture this wonderful creature. I saw lions and leopards on my visit to Africa. The cubs are so cute.

You got that right ... all the animals we captured with our cameras on trips like this, are special to me. I suppose because they are more elusive, big cats are a touch more special. For us, seeing lions became a rather frequent experience ... but this was our one & only viewing of a Cheetah. We hoped for a leopard but for now, I'll have to settle for those captured by other shooters. And I don't know what it is, but the little ones of every species, particularly the big cats, were special to me. Thanks for the visit & comments.

Nope ... if the posts came across as serious, then apologies. I think I speak for Keith as well ... we enjoyed this tour because we were seeing these critters as they live every day. Keith is a real naturalist as I also try to be. So no trick shots ... no disturbing the animals. However ... when it comes to teasing one another?!?!?!?! That's a whole different matter. Keith & I are different on a whole bunch of levels ... he was a sailor ... I was a Marine ... he shoots Nikon ... I shoot Canon ... we differ on many levels ... but we both enjoy teasing one another & I thoroughly enjoyed traveling with him. Besides, if you knew his wife ... you'd realize a person would have to be plumb crazy to encourage Keith to get out of the Landcruiser to mow the grass or lasso rhinos ... she'd make me pay a terrible price. No thanks. I like living. ;)
Nope ... if the posts came across as serious, then... (show quote)

There was a sign in Livingstone that I wished I'd taken a photo of. It said, I paraphrase, lion sighting, lion walking, lion feeding! If you get out on the ground where There Are predators, you go from the top of the feeding chain to the bottom.

It is too bad UHH dirsntvallow videos, I shot a few while on safari.

Never saw that sign ... but had I, it would have been captured for sure!!!! Think it says it all. Thanks for sharing.

A very nice set. I saw several Cheetahs, but very few leopards--I only got a halfway good shot of one. (He was up a tree, as yours was. Maybe the same tree.) Didn't see any cat cubs.

Thanks for the comment David ... & you're right ... the Cheetahs & Leopards are elusive critters for sure. However, you may have my shots confused with someone else's ... none of my cheetah shots (sadly) were in a tree, however the one I saw did have 4 cubs, which were cutter than buttons albeit hard to see & capture.

fbeaston, I was referring to the leopard in the tree in your poster. My only good photos of a leapard were in a tree just like that one--might have even been the same leopard.

(Minor rant. I feel neglected. My post yesterday of Africa photos did not "make" the Digest. I'll get over it, though.)

Sorry ... thought you were responding to my post ... & sorry about your post not making it ... my suggestion is resubmit it ... not sure why, but I've had a couple in the past that didn't make the Digest. It can be disappointing.

Well, if it doesn't appear in tonight's Digest, I'll just link to it when I post the next segment.
